Green Policy and Sustanable Development Program

The Caucasian House is one of the oldest environmental organizations operating in Georgia, Its engagement originating from the green movement launched in the late 1980s. We have also participated in all important environmental struggles and campaigns taking place in independent Georgia. In 2020, the Caucasian House board decided to establish the Green Policy and Sustainable Development Program to more systematically support earth defenders and climate activists.

The purposes of the program are: Promoting sustainable and socially just development of Georgia and the Caucasus; Protection and preservation of natural heritage of the region; Establishing the principles of environmental protection and ecological safety in our society.

The priority of the program is to encourage educational and research activities on the ecological, socio-cultural and political economic consequences of climate change.
