Caucasian House together with international non-governmental organization "International Alert" has been implementing the project "Youth Dialogue for Civic Action" since 2016. The aim of the project is to encourage civic activism among young people and spread the ideas of peace and peacebuilding.
Within the framework of the project, every year 30 young people are given the opportunity to participate in seminars and trainings conducted by experts working on issues of peace building and conflict analysis, historians and political scientists. At the seminar and trainings, young people get acquainted with the history of Georgian-Abkhazian and Georgian-South Ossetian coexistence and conflicts, various models of conflict resolution and transformation, and discuss the role of young people in the process of peacebuilding.
After the seminars and trainings, the selected young people take part in the South Caucasian Youth Dialogue and study tour, which are held in different European countries.
To encourage civic activism among young people, project participants are given the opportunity to implement small projects and initiatives. Within the framework of the project, a number of discussions were organized by young participation around integration of minorities, social issues, urban and green development, cultural diversity and other issues. Project participants also filmed various documentaries, published publications and held number of activities in different cities and regions of Georgia.
The project is implemented with the financial support of USAID.
