Russian language civic-political newspaper Kavkask Aktsent was being published from 1999. Aim of the newspaper is to cover current events in Caucasus region and facilitate peaceful resolution of the conflicts; defend the rights of the ethnic minorities and help them integrate in the society; raising the awareness on environmental issues; reflecting the work of non-governmental sector. Also keeping and developing the Russian language media in the region as the Russian still serves as a main communication language among the people of Caucasus. From 1999 till 2006 the newspaper was published regularity with the financial support of various missions and funds operating in the region (Such as Heinrich Böll Foundation, Open Society Georgia and OSCE mission in Georgia.
In 2006 five issues of the newspaper was financed by International Centre for Conflict Resolution. In January, 2010 monthly publishing of the newspaper renewed and it was transformed into the civic-political magazine with the financial support of Open Society Georgia. Over all 13 issues of the magazine were published. The last one was published in the January of 2 011
